Formation and Evolution of Transient Jets and Their Cavities in Black Hole X-Ray Binaries

چکیده
Abstract We propose a model explaining the origin of transient/episodic jets in black hole X-ray binaries, which they are caused by transitions from collimated, strongly magnetized jet to wide, uncollimated outflow. The change occurs when accretion flow leaves magnetically choked state due an increase rate for weakly varying magnetic flux. formed powerful then detaches its base, and propagates as discrete ejection. outflow produces relativistic plasma that fills surroundings hole, contributing formation low-density cavity. While pressure cavity is equilibrium with surrounding interstellar medium (ISM), inertia orders magnitude lower than ISM. This implies cannot efficiently decelerate ejecta, most observations. modest deceleration within cavities observed some cases can be presence clouds and/or filaments, forming wide transition zone between

Formation and Evolution of Black Hole X-ray Transient Systems
We study the formation of low-mass black hole X-ray binaries with main sequence companions that have formed through case C mass transfer (mass transfer following the helium core burning phase of the black hole progenitor). We identify these objects with the observed soft X-ray transients. Although this scenario requires a set of fine tuned conditions, we are able to produce a current Galactic p...
متن کاملBlack Hole Accretion in Transient X-Ray Binaries
Recent work on the modes of accretion onto black holes (BHs) in Soft X-Ray Transients (SXTs) is reviewed, with an emphasis on uncertainties affecting models of accretion during quiescence (inner hot flow, outer thin disk). Various interpretations of the quiescent X-ray luminosity difference between systems containing neutron stars (NSs) and systems containing BH candidates are also summarized. ...
متن کاملPowerful jets from black hole X-ray binaries in Low/Hard X-ray states
Four persistent (Cygnus X-1, GX 339-4, GRS 1758-258 and 1E 1740.7-2942) and three transient (GS 2023+38, GRO J0422+32 and GS 1354-64) black hole X-ray binary systems have been extensively observed at radio wavelengths during extended periods in the Low/Hard X-ray state, which is characterised in X-rays by a hard power-law spectrum and strong variability. All seven systems show a persistent flat...
متن کاملFormation of High Mass X-ray Black Hole Binaries
We discuss the progenitor evolution of high mass black hole binaries with black hole of mass ∼ > 10M⊙, like Cyg X-1. From the observed large space velocity of Cyg X-1, which we interpret as coming from a Blaauw-Boersma kick, we find that the helium envelope of the black hole progenitor must have been at least 16M⊙. Using new and improved wind mass loss rates for Wolf-Rayet stars, we are unable ...
متن کاملEvolution of Intermediate-Mass Black Hole X-Ray Binaries
The majority of the ultraluminous X-ray sources (ULXs) in external galaxies are believed to be accreting black holes in binary systems; some of the black holes could be as massive as ∼ 100 − 1000M⊙. We have performed evolution calculations for intermediate-mass black hole X-ray binaries, assuming they are formed in dense star clusters via tidal capture. The results are compared with those for s...
